The interior cutaway illustration of the volcano base draws inspiration from The Volcano Lair, the fictional headquarters of the terrorist organisation SPECTRE that was was built into an extinct Japanese volcano that featured in the 1967 James Bond film You Only Live Twice. The building sections in the illustrated cross section include rocket launch, control room, shark pool, evil board room, laser torture and wardrobe.
