Detailed search and find illustration of a high street for Lloyds Bank highlighting fraud threats for customers
Rod Hunt was commissioned by Weber Shandwick to create a search and find illustration for Lloyds Bank highlighting the effects of fraud on their customers. The illustration was to be used as social posts on Instagram and TikTok. Rod created one huge illustration which was spliced into 6 images on two separate carousel social posts where the user swiped through 3 images within the carousel and a final reveal image identifying the threats at the end.
There is both an awareness and education element to this campaign that blends real world insight with a fun and engaging approach. Lloyds wanted to show phone theft, phishing, malware and scams as serious gateways to fraud, understand what practical steps they can take to protect themselves, and see Lloyds as a smart, modern bank that’s actively on their side.
People think phone theft is just an inconvenience - until they realise it’s the fastest way into their financial lives. Fraud can happen to anyone. They wanted to position Lloyds Bank as the experts to help their customers when things go wrong.
The different types of scams and threats highlighted in the illustration:
ATM shoulder surfer: A person standing too close to a customer entering their PIN.
Phone theft: bike riders snatching phones from people using their phone whilst walking.
Theft: leaving your bag/ and phone unattended on a cafe/restaurant table.
Theft: phones sticking out of a back pocket.
Phishing: receiving messages on your phone screen that don't feel right.
Scams: buyers handing cash for highly discounted, unverified gig tickets.
Malware: using free unsecured public wifi.
QR code scams: scanning parking app QR codes.
Scam telephone calls: unexpected off-brand bank phone calls.
